Our research and development effort started in 2000 and since then we have been able to help several companies, in the industry, produce high quality medical devices. In 2013, we introduced Essenlife Inc. and have since begun to taken steps to ensure Essenlife Inc. becomes a leader in the medical device industry. Our patented technology improves the accuracy and efficiency of home used blood glucose monitors.
The painless lancing device we have developed provides patients with a more comfortable blood sampling experience. A small minimum sample volume (0.5µL ) and shorter measuring time (5 seconds) makes measuring a blood sample easier and fast thereby benefiting the patient.
The strips used in our monitor either contain glucose dehydrogenase (GDH-FAD) or glucose oxidase (GOD-FAD) to test the levels of glucose in the blood. We also provide strips with different hematocrit ranges.
GDH and GOD are enzymes that catalyze a reaction with glucose which leads to electrons being released and an electrical current being measured.
FAD, flavin adenine dinucleotide, is a coenzyme that enables the activity of both enzymes.
GDH-FAD test strips show no reactivity to any sugars other than glucose and demonstrated better heat-resistance and oxygen-resistance.
GOD-FAD test strips show little reactivity with other sugars.
Our Blood Glucose Meter uses an internal coding system. Test strips can vary from lot to lot, a test-strip code ensures the meter compensates for any differences in the batch. Strips are embedded with the code therefore a meter can detect this information directly and instantly from each test strip.

HCT stands for hematocrit, which is the percentage of red blood cells in the whole blood sample. It ranges in humans but normal levels are around 40% tp 45%. Different levels of HCT can effect the accuracy of a blood glucose reading. With our enhanced technology we have been able to increase the testing accuracy even with a HCT range of 0-70%.
EBI has developed a blood glucose strip that is a patented two-sided electrode. This innovation helps filter and process the complex signal obtained from one tiny blood drop in the reaction area. As a result a smaller volume of blood is needed to obtain an accurate reading.
EBI has specially designed monitors for calculating the complex signals from test strips. EBI’s Auto Balance TM technology has an artificial intelligence function that processes the signals and data generated from the reaction area and leads to accurate results.
